Controversy Erupts Between Top Live Streamers Over Cryptocurrency Investments
Popular live streamers Asian Stream God and online influencer Bump are set to face off in a high-stakes boxing match at Taipei Arena in December. While Stream God has expressed willingness to accept Bitcoin as payment for the fight, Bump has made it clear that he has no intention of investing in cryptocurrencies.
During a press conference last month, Stream God was asked if he would accept cryptocurrency as payment for the match. He stated that he would only accept Bitcoin as he believed in its value, disregarding all other cryptocurrencies. This stance sparked curiosity about Bump’s views on virtual currencies.
In a rare video appearance, Bump emphasized his skepticism towards cryptocurrency investments, citing concerns about scams within the industry. He expressed his doubts, stating, “From my perspective, cryptocurrencies are still scams. It’s not about whether the cryptocurrency itself is a scam, but rather the people promoting it. Who’s pushing the hype about cryptocurrencies? Celebrities, influencers, content creators.”
Bump further criticized influencers who provide investment advice to their followers, highlighting the significant commissions they earn from such activities. He revealed, “I’m certain that they earn substantial commissions from their trading activities. When they introduce you to someone, they charge a commission. The scariest thing I’ve heard is that some of them earn over a million from commissions.”
Responding to questions about his lucrative ventures in cryptocurrencies, Bump hinted at the idea of quitting luxury sales. However, he expressed his love for luxury goods and the necessity of promoting them through videos to attract consumers. In contrast, he emphasized his reservations about sharing his cryptocurrency operations, questioning the need to educate others about profit-making opportunities in the market.
Reflecting on the situation, he shared a mantra he found online: “When someone teaches you how to make money, it means they want to make money from you.” As the boxing match between Stream God and Bump draws closer, their differing approaches towards cryptocurrency investments continue to create buzz among their fans and followers.
